‘GFW 2015: 30th May-2nd June’
It’s that time of year again. 4 days. 23 catwalks. 1,000 students. It is Graduate Fashion Week 2015. This year Graduate Fashion Week will be taking place at The Old Truman Brewery from 30th May – 2nd June. Having moved from it’s old home at the Olympia, this will now be the second year The Old Truman Brewery has hosted the event.
Graduate Fashion Week – or GFW – has, for the last 25 years, been the premier opportunity for up and coming designers to promote their work and establish contacts with potential employers. It also provides a chance for students considering an education and career in fashion to see the work produced by students from more than 60 universities across the country. It’s a lot to take in.
We have already seen a preview of just a selection of what will be on show from Annie Mckie (AnnieMcKie90) from Northumbria, Deborah Beardmore (@Debbiebeardmore) from University of Central Lancashire, Josh Read (Joshconnorread) from Kingston, Laura Precious (Myyprecious) from Manchester School of Art and Eloise Lancaster (EML_457) from Winchester School of Art.
The International show will also draw in talent from across the globe so there will really be plenty to see.
GFW has helped launch the careers of many successful designers including Christopher Bailey, Stella McCartney and Julien Macdonald. We’re sure we’ll spot some more promising talent this year.
Modeconnect have covered GFW in 2012, 2013 and 2014. See our range of student profiles and show reviews. This year, we are very excited to be heading back and we’ll be reporting on all of the shows and many designers. Make sure you check us out for a full run-down of who’s who and what’s what!
We hope to see you there!
