Unknown Lumiere brother film, called the Serpentine Dance, recorded in 1896 and hand-coloured frame by frame.

The dancer is Loie Fuller regarded as a pioneer of modern dancer and the creator of Serpentine Dance. In fact Serpentine Dance is a development of Skirt Dance, a form of Burlesque imported in the States from England, a reaction against classic forms of ballet, that incorporated folk and popular dances like cancan.
