FASHION ZONE at Ryerson University is one of
Canada’s first incubators for fashion-inspired business.

Fashion Zone have recognized a few gaps and opportunities in the Canadian Fashion Industry in regards to development of innovative products and services. With Canadian fashion jobs increasingly being outsourced, the goal of the Fashion Zone is to promote entrepreneurship as a viable career path for prospective entrepreneurs interested in fashion.

Fashion Zone push for interdisciplinary collaboration in order to increase the development of unique new technologies, products, services, processes and accelerate the likelihood of successful new companies and social ventures. Fashion Zone members learn how to create and launch a company, and receive industry mentorship to progress their growth.

The Fashion Zone is a key new player in helping to build Canadian businesses and improve the quality of life for Canada as a whole.

We are located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the cultural and business epicenter of the city. The participants get office space as well as access to boardrooms, meeting rooms and computers.


Whether it is a garment or a product, we have equipment and machinery to accommodate any fashion prototyping needs. Open access to 3D printers allows participants to experiment with designs and produce prototypes. With support and training of our specialist it becomes easy to create digital patterns with our PAD System to digitize, manipulate and print designs fast. We also run a series of workshops on how to use our equipment to its full potential.


In the fashion industry, it all comes down to networking. The participants have access to the fashion and tech industries to build vital connections to advance any company.


The fundamentals of starting and running a fashion business are taught through hands on workshops and seminars, ranging from accounting for startups to garment production. We focus not only on accelerating fashion-inspired businesses, but also growing future entrepreneurs through multi-level participation model.
